How long does a home addition take from planning to move-in?
Most single-room additions in Greater Cincinnati take 3 to 5 months from signed design to final walkthrough, depending on permitting timelines, foundation type, and whether we're tying into existing plumbing or electrical. We give you a realistic schedule before you sign anything.
Do I need my own designer for a remodel or addition?
No. We walk your space, talk through how you live and use it, and help you plan layout, finishes and materials in-house. You're welcome to bring your own designer if you have one, but it's not required.
Do you handle permits for additions and remodels?
Yes. We pull all required permits and coordinate inspections for additions, structural changes, and remodels — you don't need to navigate the county or city permitting process yourself.
Do you work directly with my insurance company?
Yes — insurance restoration is our specialty. We document the damage with photos, write the estimate in Xactimate (the same software most carriers use), communicate directly with your adjuster, and file supplements when hidden damage turns up. You deal with one point of contact instead of chasing paperwork.
Do I have to use the contractor my insurance company recommends?
No. In Ohio, the choice of contractor is yours — a carrier’s “preferred vendor” list is a suggestion, not a requirement. Your insurer owes you the cost to properly repair the covered damage regardless of who performs the work.
What does an insurance claim actually cost me out of pocket?
In most cases, your deductible — that’s the portion of the loss your policy makes you responsible for. We review your claim paperwork with you up front so there are no surprise numbers at the end, and financing is available if you’re adding upgrades beyond the covered scope.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Resolute Construction and Remodel is a fully licensed and insured general contractor, and we’re veteran-owned and operated. Certificates of insurance are available on request for any project.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We offer homeowner financing through Service Finance Company, LLC (NMLS #140908, Equal Housing Lender), with fixed monthly installment payments, promotional options on qualifying projects, and no pre-payment penalty. Financing is subject to credit approval — see our financing page for details.
How fast can you respond to an emergency?
Our emergency line is answered 24/7. For active fire, water, or storm losses in our primary service area we’re typically on site within hours to secure the property — board-up, tarping, and water mitigation — before further damage sets in.
